How do I get to you by Air?

Ukunda Airstrip, Diani, is 10 minutes’ drive from Flamboyant. Transfer Ukunda Airstrip, round trip: US$ 15.

4 airlines fly daily from Nairobi to Diani: Air Kenya www.airkenya.com , Safarilink www.flysafarilink.com , Jambojet www.jambojet.com  and SAX www.fly-sax.com

Air Kenya and Safarilink connect you from the main Game Parks to Diani via Nairobi.

Flying to Diani, only Jambojet departs from JKIA International Airport, the others  from Wilson Airport, located 45 minutes’ drive from JKIA.

Direct Flights from the Maasai Mara to Diani are operated by Mombasa Air Safari.

We recommend that you fly directly to Diani to avoid Mombasa traffic and the ferry which can cause delays to your journey.

Mombasa: Moi International Airport is 35 km away and 1.5 to 2 hours’ drive from Diani (traffic jams and ferry depending). We can organize your airport transfer with our partnered taxi company.

What is the Weather like?

Tropical weather with an ambient temperature varying from 22°C to 30°C

We have 2 Monsoon winds; October to April is dry and hot, May to July is humid and rainy.

Do I need a Visa?

A 6 month valid passport is required to enter the country. Visas are required for most travellers. Visas can be purchased on arrival at the International Airports (Nairobi JKIA and Mombasa MIA) or at your home country’s Kenyan Embassy. The validity is 3 months with possible extensions for another 3 months.

Do I need any Vaccinations?

A yellow fever vaccination is required from all travellers coming from an infected region. Travellers from other countries are strongly advised to consider obtaining vaccination against the disease prior to entering the country and may not be admitted without one.

What do I need to know about Customs regulations?

It is against the law to take shells and ivory products out of the country.

Am I expected to leave tip for services?

Is at the discretion of the client and highly appreciated. Tip in Kenyan Shillings as most staff find it difficult to change foreign currency. Also note that foreign coins cannot be changed locally.

Can You help me organise a Safari?

We can organize your safari departing from Diani. Tsavo East and Tsavo West are only 4 hours drive away and offer ideal short safaris from Flamboyant. Do not hesitate to contact us for more information, we’d be happy to recommend trips and places that we love to go ourselves!

What about mosquitos and Malaria?

A malaria prophylaxis is recommended to everyone travelling in Kenya.

Can you organise transfer to and from the Airport?

Airport transfers from Ukunda airstrip at US$ 15 round trip.
For Mombasa Airport, we can organize your airport transfer with our partnered taxi company. The cost vary from US$ 120 to US$ 190 according to the number of people and the taxi category.

Do You offer Spa services?

Massage/beauty can be organized in Flamboyant with our partnered masseuse and beauticians. Please contact the reception.

Do You have Internet connection?

Wi-Fi is offered in Flamboyant but be aware that the connection can be slow in Kenya.
